This a update to the History following on from 2005..so what else has happened....

 

In 2007 the Captain Mr S. Bentham moved to nearby Halesowen to follow the calling to become a Baptist Minister. Mrs Trish Criddle then became the Captain and also Mr Tom Russell became the Officer In Charge of the Company and Senior Section.

 

The Company numbers up-to 2010 have waxed and waned but over the past 18 months leading up to the end of 2009 the numbers have increased. It has been encouraging to see the Boys’ grow up into the young men and the Seniors taking a important an d active role within the Company.

 

The ongoing special relationship that we have with 1st Lye Boys’ Brigade Company has flourished and we continue to join up camps with them. Coopers Mill Camps continue to be a favourite place for the Companies to meet together. Valuable friendships have been built between the two Companies.

 

The Company continues to attend Battalion events has in 2009 managed to win the P.E competition, football and  Battalion Quiz. It’s good to win but as a Company we believe its important to take part in the Battalion Competitions and if we do win then its  a bonus.

 

The Seniors went to Scotland in 2009 which was the first Seniors Challenge. This was to walk along the West Highland Way and also to Climb Ben Nevis. This was held jointly with Lye and was a great week. For more details on this walk see the link on the home page.
