On Friday 12th October we set off to Wales with 9 Boys and 6 staff. We arrived at Porthcawl just after 9:30 pm and settled in.
On the Saturday we went to the Big Pit where we were equipped with miners helmets and lights. We went underground and was given a tour around the tunnels and the guide told the lads that the would of worked in the mine and in some cases in the dark for 12 hours a day. After the tour we had look around the rest of the museum. We then went to the National Roman museum and had our lunch in the amphitheatre with the hot sunshine shining down in us. We had a explore around the ruins and then visited the roman museum.
The lads enjoyed dressing up as Roman soldiers with the heavy armour. The boys then bought various items from the gift shop. As the weather was good to us we went back to Porthcawl and went to the beach. We spent some time looking around the rock pools before going back to the church for tea. On the evening we went to the cinema and watched the City Of Ember.
On Sunday we joined the Baptist Church in Porthcawl for their service. Again the sun was out in force so we went to the beach while some of the other staff went back to the church hall and got lunch under way. The lads enjoyed having some time to look around the pools and some boys did get a little wet, but the sun soon dreid them out.
After lunch we packed up and went back to Kidderminster in the mini-
