The Summer Camp made a return this year after the break last year to allow the Seniors Challenge. We looked for places to go but found that many places were booked or were to expensive so we stayed at our own church in Kidderminster.

Our Company and 1st Lye  BB met on the evening of Monday 26th July at Milton Hall. There were 22 boys and young men with 6 officers.

On the evenings on camp there was computers set up and games consoles to occupy the lads.

On Tuesday we headed off on the train to Bournville where Cadburys World is located. The smell of chocolate greeted us as we walked towards the visitor centre and gave us nice welcome to Cadburys.. After lunch and a opportunity for the boys to play on the playground we went into the visitor centre. We walked round the attraction and saw how cadburys was founded and how chocolate is made. There was some free chocolate given out and there were interactive exhibits that the lads enjoyed. The Gorilla playing the drums from the adverts gave us a rendition before going into the shop to buy loads of chocolate.. We then headed off on the train back to Kidderminster.

On Wednesday we walked into Kidderminster and spent the morning swimming at the Glades Leisure Centre . After lunch we went to Habberley Valley and played games with a range of water pistols  of various sizes. We played a number of games and everyone got wet and that included the Captain.

On the  Thursday it was time to tidy up, pack and go home.

Most nights the lads didnt fall asleep until 3am which is part  of being on camp, sleep is never high on the agenda for the boys  (top of the list for staff).

We all had  a  great time and the camp seemed to go really quick. One boy cried because he didnt want to go home and stay on camp....compliment in some ways. Have a look at the photos as they tell a better story....
