On Thursday 21st April 2011 the two Companies of 1st Kidderminster and 1st Lye had a camp at the Far Forest Centre.

There was 18 boys and 7 staff  attending. The advance party took the food and other items needed for  the camp up ready for the arrival of the lads in the afternoon.

The camp which lasted for 5 days until the Monday had plenty of sunshine.

We played football and played tracker and capture the flag games in the nearby Orchard.

On Friday we walked to Bewdley which was a 12 mile round trip.  We went to the Chippy and to Teddy Grays sweet shop. Some of the lads went back to Far Forest on the mini-bus while others walked back.

On the way back we visited Coopers Mill which is being refurbished and looked really nice. And gave hope to us returning soon. On Saturday we went to the visitor centre for a drink and a ice cream.

On  Sunday we went to Vernon Hall Free Church in Stourport for the Easter service. We wore Uniform for a change and there were a number of comments on how smart the Boys looked. The church was made a friend of the Boys’ Brigade and was presented with a badge and certificate. The Boys and staff were presented with the Boys’ Brigade 125 years of camping badge. The traditional football game took place between the Companies..the score..1st Kidderminster 4 -  1st Lye 1.

Monday soon came around and it was time pack up and go home. We enjoyed having the comfort of a centre with all the facilities and it was different to what we were normally used to for a Easter Camp.
