On Friday 21st March 2008 the two Companies of 1st Kidderminster and 1st Lye met at Coopers Mill in the Wyre Forest. The advance party set the camp up ready for the arrival of the lads in the afternoon.
The camp which lasted for 5 days until the Tuesday had a bit of snow and rain but stayed mainly dry. Over the camp the lads spent time playing various games in the forest .
On Saturday we walked to Bewdley so the lads could spend their or (parents )cash. The lads bought plenty of sweets and had their face painted at Bewdley museum. This also meant they had to walk back to the mill with painted faces, you can imagine the looks on peoples faces.
We went deer trekking and managed to see about 8 deer in the fading light in the forest.
Sunday we went to Vernon Hall Free Church in Stourport for the Easter service.
We played football, launched a water rocket and had fun with a radio controlled helicopter.
Tuesday soon came around and it was time to strike camp and go home. The camp went very well and was one of the best yet at the mill.
